Ask a Sports aficionado, what all those ceaseless reps of lunges, squats, burpees, and dumbbell presses do? Be ready for a rhetorical question that has the answer within itself, ‘what they don’t do?’ They make you look aesthetically pleasing, add years to your life, and most importantly, save all your hard money spent on regular doctor visits. What if we tell you that there are some exercises that are scientifically proven to boost male libido as well?
Libido is known to be your sexual desire and tends to fluctuate due to various factors like depression, work pressure, stress, anxiety, medical conditions, and so on. This can sway your sexual relationship with your partner, most prominently with yourself as well.
These scientifically proven exercises are considered to power up your blood flow to the genital which results in long-lasting erections along with more sexual pleasure for you and your partner. You can also try these exercises with your partner as there’s a saying ‘couples who sweat together, stay together’.
Without further ado, we are here with some scientifically proven exercises to boost libido in men.
Walking
It is a universal easy-peasy exercise of all the time. Wear your sports shoes, grab your headphones and start walking! Even Hippocrates, the great Greek physician once quoted “walking is man’s best medicine” and we totally acquiesce to it.
*According to a Harvard study, walking for 30 mins every day can shrink the chances of erectile dysfunction in men as it progresses blood circulation and boosts blood flow to the penis.
Walking releases endorphin hormones (your happy hormones released during pain or stress to relax you) that help in longer erections polishing up your sexual performance to its optimum.
Also, *brisk walking from 30 minutes to 2 hours per day can lessen the risks of heart disease in men by 40%. We recommend you to walk for five minutes every two hours to keep your body active both physically and sexually.
Swimming
Did you know that Swimming is the fourth most popular activity in the United States?
*Swimming not only helps lower blood pressure, but swimmers have half the risk of death compared to non-swimmers.
*30 minutes of swimming thrice a week burns some serious calories, a benefit for obese men as extra pounds is equal to low libido. Swimming helps in shedding those extra pounds, increasing testosterone levels and improving strength, endurance, and flexibility for better sex life.
Weight Lifting
If you have already started this activity, then congratulations you have raised the bar. Weightlifting improves sex drive by encouraging your body to produce more testosterone.
As healthy testosterone levels are associated with sexual desire, doing exercises like dumbbell shoulder press, leg press, squats, deadlift and so many may also amp up your libido.
Weightlifting also improves your upper body strength by increasing stamina as these muscles are used more during sexual intercourse. We recommend you to do fewer reps with heavier weights to avoid any muscle injury.
Kegels
For men who are not associated with the idea of Kegels, the first step is to feel your pubococcygeus muscles and pretend you have to urinate then hold it. Once your muscles get tightened, squeeze for 10 minutes and then relax the muscles.
Named after Los Angeles physician Arnold Kegel, Kegel not only strengthens pelvic floor muscles but increases libido in men as well. Men can use kegel to delay ejaculation by contracting these muscles just before orgasm.
Kegel is considered to be one of the good sex exercises that helps in building endurance and strength by contracting the pubococcygeus (PC) muscles which let you stop the flow of urine.
Yoga
*Yoga Alliance and Yoga Journal from their survey found that the number of US citizens doing yoga rose from 20.4 million to 36 million between the years 2012 and 2016. So what’s stopping you?
*A recent study published in the Journal of sexual medicine has found that yoga helps with premature ejaculation in men and improves all areas of the sexual domain like desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain.
Nothing can shake up your sex life better than being a yogi. Practicing yoga makes your body flexible to create innovative sex positions to gain maximum sexual pleasure shooting up your libido.
Yoga improves muscle tone, pelvic muscle, flexibility, endurance, and balance. Yoga also makes you more motivated to stay healthy and eat well.
Conclusion
Physical exercises like walking, Kegels, yoga, weight lifting, and swimming enhance your pelvic muscle power, and amp up the production of testosterone in your body. These exercises to boost your libido will not only make you in demand but are also great to maintain your health.
Sometimes, what’s good for the rest of the body is also good for your sexual health.
Being physically active can help you lead a healthier and happier life with your partner.
