Oats Cheela- The healthiest breakfast

Updated: Jun 23, 2023

Are you a fan of cheela, but looking for a healthier option for your breakfast? We got you covered.

In my experiments with the kitchen, I have realised that one of the easiest Indian food items ever to cook is ‘Cheela’. It hardly takes you any time to cook, is a great option for breakfast, especially when you are in a hurry and tastes great.

What if we made it a little more satisfying by making it more healthy? Why not add oats to the mix. If you are curious and are always on the lookout for healthy breakfast recipes, we urge you to read on.

Ingredients

Oats, besan, onion, carrots, capsicum, tomatoes, salt, ajwain, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, oil, water.

How to

The very first step required is that you powder the oats in a blender and keep them aside. Now cut your vegetables: onion, capsicum, tomatoes, green chillies and also grate the carrots. Once done, take the bowl of oats powder and add besan, salt, ajwain, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Mix them well and add chopped green chillies, ginger and coriander leaves, mix it again. Now add the vegetables and then add some water. Mix them well and make sure the batter that you are preparing is runny in nature.

Next heat a pan and drizzle half a spoon of oil on it. Add a ladleful of your batter and spread it around evenly. Once the bottom is cooked, drizzle a little of oil on the upper part and flip the cheela. Once the other side has also been cooked, your breakfast is hot and ready to be served.

Suggestions: Finely diced onion, lemon and Bhujia can be added as accessories with some coriander leaves as garnish.
