Nutrient-Packed Oats Cheela: A Healthy Breakfast Delight

Are you a fan of cheese but in search of a more nutritious breakfast option? Look no further.

In my culinary explorations, I've discovered that one of the simplest Indian dishes to prepare is the humble 'Cheela.' It's quick to cook, an ideal choice for those rushed mornings, and it tastes fantastic.

What if we could enhance its nutritional value while retaining its deliciousness? The answer lies in adding oats to the mix. If you're someone who's always on the lookout for wholesome breakfast recipes, we invite you to keep reading.

Ingredients:

  • Oats

  • Besan (gram flour)

  • Onion

  • Carrots

  • Capsicum

  • Tomatoes

  • Salt

  • Ajwain (carom seeds)

  • Turmeric powder

  • Red chili powder

  • Green chilies

  • Ginger

  • Coriander leaves

  • Oil

  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Begin by grinding the oats into a fine powder using a blender, and set it aside.

  2. Prepare your vegetables: finely chop the onion, capsicum, tomatoes, and green chilies, and grate the carrots.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the oats powder with Besan, Salt, Ajwain, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix thoroughly, then add the chopped green chilies, ginger, and coriander leaves. Mix again.

  4. Incorporate the prepared vegetables into the mixture, and add some water. Ensure that the batter has a runny consistency.

  5. Heat a pan and drizzle half a teaspoon of oil on it. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it evenly. Once the bottom side is cooked, add a little more oil on top and flip the cheese. Cook until both sides are golden brown.

  6. Your nutritious breakfast is now hot and ready to be served.

Suggestions:

For added flavor and texture, consider finely diced onions, a squeeze of lemon, and a sprinkle of Bhujia as accompaniments, with a garnish of fresh coriander leaves. Enjoy your wholesome oatmeal cheese!
