With winters in full throttle it is obvious that our skin is going to take a hit. Although, men tend to take their skin lightly and with dryness comes wrinkles. Our skin needs moisture even during normal weather and day, the need to hydrate becomes high with the winter season in town.
So, how can a man with no prior experience in keeping their skin healthy and wealthy, can start taking good care of their skin? Well, as always, we are here to hold your wrinkly, dry, hand and take you on a journey of skin care and routine. Take notes men:
Get the right products
Every skin is different, some are dry, oily, normal or there is even combination skin. In an attempt to make your skin healthy and soft, the first step in the process is for you to figure out your skin type. One way to do this is to observe how your skin behaves after using a gentle cleanser and patting it dry.
Once you have figured out your skin type, it is now of utter importance that you read more than just the price tag before buying any product. Make sure that these products are for your skin type and if available, try to find organic products that have less chemicals and are not harmful to your skin. Fragrance free products are also a great choice and lack skin threatening products.
Use Sunscreen
What may come, rain, shine, havoc, earthquake, COVID, one thing that you cannot afford to miss is your sunscreen. The major harm caused to your skin is because of absence of sunscreen. Another tip for a good protection for your skin is to use a broad spectrum SPF.
Men tend to not only not believe in putting up with creams and moisturisers but also have the tendency to believe that sunscreen is un manly or way too girly for their liking. Believe me men, SPF is what you need to have a younger and good looking skin, that will not only look good but would also keep your skin healthy.
No Ethanol
As we mentioned earlier, it is important that you keep a track of products used in any skin care product. It is also very important to make sure that the product that you are using does not have Ethanol in it.
Major cleansers and moisturisers contain some amount of alcohol in them. Ethanol is a type of alcohol that is harmful for any skin type and can dry out even men’s skin.
Moisturise!
The most important part of keeping your skin hydrated, healthy, and soft is to moisturize it as and when required. Make it a routine to moisturize every inch of your body after shower and before bed.
Even though men tend to have a tougher skin, it is important to note that every season requires different types of moisturizer. Winter season will need a moisturizer that can keep your skin from getting dry or broken, while during summer a light moisturizer works effectively.
Stay Hydrated
Last but not the least, it is important to keep your body hydrated with ample amounts of water. Men tend to be more active and generally keep running around for different chores and duties of their lives.
With daily stress, anxiety and business of our lives men tend to forget the importance of water in our body. Keep alarms that remind you to intake water. Make it a point that whenever you get up for a coffee refill, you also refill your water glass.
