Aditya made his acting debut at a young age in Ek Chhotisi Love Story (2002), but his breakthrough came much later with his role in the romantic drama Tum Bin 2 (2016). How do you balance your intense acting schedule with time for your family and your passion for fitness?
It's not that difficult if your priorities are in place. To be honest, I don't enjoy going to the gym while I am striving for something, but it's that tough pill that you need to swallow. When it comes to time for family, I have been blessed with an understanding family who knows I do what I do for the betterment of us all. Also, all my mom needs is one phone call in a day when I am away.
When time is limited but you still want to work up a nice sweat, what is your go-to fitness regimen?
Circuit training: work all muscles back to back without taking a break. Take a 2-minute breather when all body parts are done, and then repeat it 2-3 more times according to your capacity.
How do you stay motivated to hit the gym even when you’re exhausted from work?
I am not motivated at all. It's a struggle to get to the gym. But once you're there, it's not a chore anymore. It's one of those things that you have to do. It needs to become a lifestyle.
Are there any fitness myths or beliefs that you believe men should dispel?
My only advice is treat fitness like a marathon and not a sprint. Be gradual and focus on longevity
What’s your favourite cheat meal, and how do you balance it with your fitness goals?
Fortunately, I don't have a lot of cravings, so it's easier to maintain a balance between burgers and pizza. Moreover, when you adopt a healthy eating habit, you tend to lose interest in unhealthy options.
What was the turning point in your acting career, and how did it affect you personally?
Student of the Year 2 marked a turning point for me, instilling the confidence and belief that my long-standing efforts would eventually pay off.
How do you enter the mindset of a character? Any special methods or exercises?
I advocate for developing a character's history or backstory. Understanding past events makes it easier to portray current actions.
In your experience, which sequence was the most difficult to film and how did you manage to pull it off?
There was a sequence in Tum Bin 2 where I am at a dinner table talking about life and loss, and I am supposed to speak very matter-of-factly about losing parents. I felt that was a difficult sequence.
If you could play any character from a classic movie or TV show, who would it be and why?
Ballu Balram (Sanjay Dutt) from Khalnayak would be my favorite character to be play. There's a madness to him, but yet he's lovable.
How do you respond to compliments or criticism on your performances?
Fortunately, I haven't received a lot of criticism, and I am horrible at receiving compliments, so I don't let them get to me. It's just an encouragement for me to carry on doing what I do.
What's your favourite way to relax when you're not working out or training?
While I enjoy watching films and shows, traveling is the most effective way for me to relax, which I usually do after completing a project.
Are there any undiscovered talents or interests you have that fans might not be aware of?
I am a gold medalist in taekwondo, and I also play table tennis really well.
Tell us which movie or book has influenced you the most, and why. as well as the necessity for men to see or read?
The Last Dance is a series that greatly motivated me. Michael Jordan established a standard for the power of dedication and focus, as well as demonstrated how to balance his career with his family life and the significance of his father to him.
Are there any upcoming projects or passions you’re really excited about?
I am eagerly anticipating my upcoming release, Amar Prem, which tells a love story between two men. I am particularly excited about this project because I am unsure of how the audience will react to it.
How do you see modern masculinity, and how has your view changed over the years?
Masculinity involves acknowledging that your partner is your equal. While you may excel in certain areas, your partner may excel in others. Anushka is significantly more mature and intelligent than I am, and I have no issue admitting and openly acknowledging it. To me, this is what defines masculinity.
What does being a man mean to you in today’s world?
Someone who is responsible for a positive change.
How do you balance being tough and sensitive in your personal and professional life?
I am not sure if I am tough. I am quite emotional, but I have discovered my strength within my sensitivity.
What guidance would you provide for younger men who are attempting to find their way in the world?
Do what you enjoy doing. Then, and only then, will it not feel like work, and you will be able to give your 200%.
What was the most drastic physical change you underwent for a part, and how did it affect your exercise regimen?
I had to gain a bunch of weight and muscle for Khel Khel Mein, and for someone who doesn't gain weight easily, it was a tough task. I gained about 12 kilos of mostly muscle in a short span of time. I had to deal with a lot of injuries and tightness in the body.
